Smudge Stick – Juniper (4 in.)

A compact bundle of dried juniper for smoke cleansing. Juniper has a fresh, evergreen scent — piney, clean, and slightly sweet — and has been used across many cultures to purify a space and set a protective boundary.

In Indigenous traditions of North America, juniper is burned to cleanse people and places before ceremony, to protect against unwanted energy, and to bless a home. In other parts of the world it has been used in much the same way: as a plant of thresholds, new beginnings, and clearing the air.

Juniper is often chosen when you want a sharper, forest-like cleanse than sweetgrass, with more warmth and protection than sage alone.

How to use Hold the stick over a heat-safe bowl or shell. Light the tip, then blow out the flame so it smolders. Fan the smoke through corners, windows, and around yourself. When finished, press the lit end into sand or the bowl until it is fully out. The same stick can be relit.

Use in a well-ventilated room. Never leave a burning smudge stick unattended. Keep away from children, pets, drafts, and anything flammable.
