Smudge Stick – Mugwort (4 in.)

A compact bundle of dried mugwort for smoke cleansing. Mugwort has an earthy, herbal scent — softer and a little more bitter than white sage — and has been used across Europe, Asia, and North America for protection, dream work, and clearing a space.

It is often called a dream herb or traveler’s herb. People burn it before meditation or sleep to quiet the room, sharpen inner focus, and invite clearer dreams. In folk practice it is also used to protect a home and sweep out stuck or heavy energy.

How to use Hold the stick over a heat-safe bowl or shell. Light the tip, then blow out the flame so it smolders. Fan the smoke through corners, doorways, and around yourself. When finished, press the lit end into sand or the bowl until it is fully out. The same stick can be relit.

Use in a well-ventilated room. Never leave a burning smudge stick unattended. Keep away from children, pets, drafts, and anything flammable. Mugwort is in the ragweed family, so skip it if you are sensitive to that scent or smoke.
